SANLAND 6G-TX and 6G-RX modules form a compact analog RF over fiber link for transporting RF signals from 5MHz to 6GHz through single-mode fiber. The transmitter converts the incoming RF signal into an optical signal, while the receiver converts the optical signal back into RF at the remote end.

With 20dB nominal gain, 104dB·Hz2/3 SFDR and plug-and-play operation, the link is designed for remote antenna communication, Satcom, distributed antenna systems, broadcast systems, 4G LTE and radio telescope applications.

  • RF-to-Optical Conversion

The 6G-TX receives the analog RF signal through the 50Ω SMA input and converts it into an optical signal.

  • Transmission over Fiber

The optical signal is transported through customer-installed single-mode fiber to the remote location.

  • Optical-to-RF Conversion

The 6G-RX converts the optical signal back into RF and delivers it through the 50Ω SMA output.

*One 6G-TX and one 6G-RX form a complete unidirectional, plug-and-play RF over fiber link.

  • What is required to set up a complete 6 GHz RFoF link?

A complete link requires one 6G-TX module and one 6G-RX module operating at the same optical wavelength. Connect the modules with single-mode fiber and use the 50 Ω SMA ports for the RF input and output. No external control is required.

  • Does the RFoF link provide RF gain?

Yes. The link provides 20 dB nominal gain. Whether an additional RF amplifier is required depends on the RF source level and the output level required by the receiving equipment.

  • How well does the link preserve wideband and modulated RF signals?
